Welcome to the Sun Acres Farm FAQ page! Here you’ll find answers to the most common questions about our farm, wildlife experiences, and accommodation options in the beautiful Dinokeng Game Reserve, Gauteng.

Yes! Children can enjoy the open spaces, garden, and gentle farm animals, while parents relax in the tranquil bushveld. Supervision of young children is recommended.

  • Your stay at Sun Acres Farm includes all the essentials to make your visit comfortable and enjoyable:

    • Coffee, tea, and sugar

    • Bedding and duvets

    • Towels

    • Limited firewood or braai wood per unit

    • Morning turndown service

    Everything is prepared to ensure a relaxing and hassle-free stay in the heart of the Dinokeng Game Reserve.


  • Each kitchen at Sun Acres Farm is fully equipped for a comfortable stay. The kitchen includes:

    • Microwave

    • Gas stove

    • Fridge/freezer

    • Pots, pans, utensils, cutlery, plates, cups, and glasses

    Everything you need is provided so you can enjoy preparing meals with ease while relaxing in the tranquil bushveld surroundings.

No, the units at Sun Acres Farm do not have air conditioning. However, each accommodation is equipped with fans and designed to take advantage of natural ventilation, providing a comfortable and refreshing stay in the cool, fresh air of the Gauteng bushveld.

Yes! Sun Acres Farm features a communal swimming pool located next to the bar area. It’s the perfect spot to relax, cool off, and enjoy the serene bushveld surroundings during your stay.

 Wi-Fi is available around the Pool/bar area. Mobile signal varies, but most areas have reliable reception.

un Acres Farm offers self-catering accommodation, so we do not have a restaurant on site. However, there are several great restaurants nearby. For a unique experience, we do offer a Bush Lunch — please check the Activities section on our website for more information.

All our prices are based on a minimum stay of 2 nights. If you wish to stay for just 1 night, an additional fee will apply. Please contact us directly for availability and pricing.

 Guided wildlife experiences are available for guests during feeding times, allowing you to safely observe and learn about South African wildlife and conservation. You are also welcome to walk along the farm’s perimeter, but please keep an eye on the wildlife and maintain a safe distance at all times.

Outside pets are not allowed. Our three dogs are part of the farm family and enjoy greeting guests, but please do not feed them.

  For the comfort and safety of both our guests and the animals, there is no wildlife roaming freely between the accommodations. Just like us, the animals need their own space to thrive. You may, however, see our friendly farm animals around — including our sheep, which wander through the garden daily between 7:00 and 8:00 am, and our three dogs: a Pointer and two Beagles. While they love the company of guests, please note that they should not be fed.

Absolutely. The owners and their team is always available to assist and enhance your visit.

The farm is in the malaria-free Dinokeng Game Reserve, Gauteng, a short drive from Pretoria and 7km from Camp Discovery. Directions are provided upon booking.

In case of a lockdown (not been able to travel decided by SA government) your booking will postponed to a later date in the year of booking or we will reimburse 80% of your total invoice (20% non-refundable confirmation deposit)
